Daily Necessities
This is SUCH a great post, I couldn’t help but share. Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project discusses how what we do every day is so much more important than what we do once in a while. It’s a short read, and very very worthy of your time:
My happiness really does depend on doing something (no matter how small) regularly that I know will contribute to my happiness. For instance, I have more happiness when I actually wash, blow dry, and style my hair daily. It makes me feel put together and confident at work and gives me a sense of satisfaction that’s more gratifying than if I just do it once or twice a week. I love when my hair looks good. It makes me inexplicably happy. I also love when I read fiction, and should take 30 minutes a day to do so. That would contribute greatly to my overall happiness, and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t just do it. So, all November, 30 mins of reading, hair done. I’ll report back on Dec. 1.
