I’ve seen approximately three commercials for this new product since last night around eight o’clock. Why is the food industry adding fiber to everything these days? And why are there so many commercials for foods with added fiber? As a nation are we really that constipated? Judging from the barage of similar products, the answer is decidely yes. Because I honestly don’t think this is about heart health…

To Disagree One Does Not Have to Be Disagreeable

…of all people Barry Goldwater takes the credit for the title of this post.  I, quite obviously, disagree with the majority of his opinions.

Bad lead-in aside, my boss, who I am required to spend entirely too much time with, constantly asks my opinion on various political issues.  Most of the time I generally agree with her or am able to word my opinion in a way that makes it seem as if I do.  However, that just did not happen today.

When I am able to word my response in a way that she deems sufficient, I am still interrupted because she did not approve of a phrase I used.  For instance, “deems sufficient”—she would most likely replace that with “deems adequate,” and vice versa if I had originally used “deems adqequate.”  It’s symantics really, and she must always get the last word in.

I seriously love Angelina Jolie, as in I admire her as a person.  I was watching a bit of the Today Show this morning while eating breakfast and she was on doing an interview with Matt Lauer.  She just seems like a good, kind person.

The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you’re not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don’t take it personally when they say “no”—they may not be smart enough to say “yes.”

—Keith Olbermann

Normally I don’t love “The Way I See It” series that can be found on Starbucks cups.  This one spoke to me though.

Weird Al, I Like Your Message

Let me get this straight:  I have never like Weird Al Yankovic, not even as a bratty little kid.  In fact, I was kinda always weirded out by him.  But now he’s done something I can finally agree with.  He decided to spoof “Whatever You like” by TI.  In the current economy/age of individuals feeling entitled to having whatever they like, no matter if they have the money to pay for it or not, I finally have a reason to get behind Weird Al.  I never thought this would happen, but, then again…oh no, I did think the economy would eventually collapse.  If something is to good to be true, you probably shouldn’t buy into it.

See the spoof:
